L 2 T  (Second Language & Technology) is an online resource and publication for learners and teachers of second languages. Here, you will discover numerous digital tools, hidden capabilities in computers and smart phones, and other practical information about modern technologies that will help you to better learn a second language, better teach a second language, or better explore and understand the corresponding culture(s) of a  second language. The instructional materials, advice, and articles in L2T are written by experts in the fields of second language acquisition, second language teaching, and second language studies.

L 2 T is dedicated primarily to improving autonomous learning of second languages through the use of modern technologies; however, we also seek to facilitate and augment the relationship between second language teachers and their students. Foremost, we hope that L2T will encourage everyone to study, respect, appreciate, and befriend the people and culture of a foreign place.

Richard Schoonmaker is the editor of L2T. He received an M.A. in second language studies from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, where he studied the role of technology in all aspects of second language learning, second language teaching, and second language communication.
